The Whoodie Story

I set up Whoodie.com after visiting the UK in December 2007. The backlash against excessive use of security cameras was clear in the number of hooded sweatshirts that could be seen in the street. The UK press had picked up on this and in fact a number of institutions (Schools, Shopping Malls) had moved to ban the Hoodie as a way of ensuring they could track miscreants and ne’er do wells.

From my perspective the simple hoodie was no longer enough, to gain protection from big brother stringer stuff would be required. The obvious step was to put in a full face zip and holes to see out of. The Whoodie concept was born.

Later research told me that the likes of Anticon and LRG had already produced a similar garment, so I abandoned my plans to patent the idea and instead worked on developing a style that would be more practical for sports activities such as skate boarding, snow boarding, skiing and has potential for other outdoor pursuits such as rock climbing, base jumping etc.

We hope you will appreciate the design concepts that are unique to Whoodie and will gain many years of pleasure (and privacy) from our quality garments.
